Congratulations! Oppo has been on a new car streak lately.

I know it wasn’t under good circumstances, but you still get to experience a different ride even if it’s not what you would have preferred.

Sick.

So ah, when you gonna lower  it? How low we talking? I’m think 1 first gen iPhone width off the ground.

A base model one, yes. I was hoping it would have stow n’ go, but ah well. For the price I paid for it, it’s in too good of a condition to pass up.

It’s coming full circle, really. My grandfather owned both a Caravan and a T&C of this generation before he gave up driving.

Congrats - I’ve owned two Chrystler minivans and while I loved them both they were shitboxes that broke down all the time.

Good luck and hope your new steed is reliable.

My wallet’s going to the ground first. I mean, not like it already has.

It’s base model through and through, so first things first is to give it a good scrubbing, then do something about the severe lack of center console.

Somewhere, somehow, Long Voyager just had a smile appear on his face. He does not know why.

Unless he’s in here already.... in which case he knows why.

The previous owner’s babied this van as best as they can and kept up with the maintenance. The transmission hasn’t gone on the fritz, which IIRC was the biggest issue with these vans, so I’m sure it’ll last me a year or two... which will hopefully be all I need to make a hop, skip, and a bound towards more financially irresponsible decisions sensible automotive dreams.

I guessed it was either an Aspen, a T&C, or maaaaaaaaybe a PT cruiser due to the headroom but I was correct that the logo was a chrysler :P

I was tempted to put “Paging Long-Voyager” in the post somewhere... but I remember him being focused more on 80s and early 90s Chrysler.

That’s what killed both of mine. Transmission problems. I had a 94 and a 96 (both were plymouth) and they were both dead of bad transmissions at less than 150k.

Sounds like you might get lucky - I do love the minivan format.  My 94 was my first car and took the back seats out and drove it like a truck.  It was red on red and I loved the damn thing.

We had a 93 Caravan SE that was dead reliable....bought it used and I think we sold it with 200,000kms or so on it. Only thing that ever failed aside from maintenance items was the fuel pump once, that I can recall.

I still really miss that van. It was our family car when I was a kid into my teens.

It is strange how the most unremarkable of cars can create such fond feelings in us. I’ve owned a couple thoroughly meh cars and really do miss some of them. More for the things I did while in them than the car itself but still.
